CANDLE TIPS & CARE

How to take care of your candle? Follow our tips & care advice
1. Wax has a “melt memory” so that means it’s important when lighting your candle for the first time, not to extinguish it until the wax melts across the entire surface, right to the edges of the vessel. This is known as the 'melt pool'. Creating a full melt pool helps to prevent tunneling, creating even burns for the duration of the candle’s ‘life’. Depending on the size of candle, this may take anywhere from 1 to 4 hours.
2. Trim wick to 5mm before each burn. This will promote an even burn, steady flame and will help limit sooting/mushrooming of wick. If you don’t have wick trimming scissors, sharp scissors or nail clippers work well.
3. If soot forms on the inside of your glassware, simply extinguish your candle, wait for it to cool. Then wipe with a clean damp cloth or paper towel. Trim the wick and relight.
4. Maximize scent throw by keeping windows and doors closed while your candle is burning and by keeping the lid on your candle when not in use.
5. Store out of direct sun, preferably in a cool, dry place.
6. It is recommended not burn your candle for longer than 4 hours at a time.
7. When lit please do not leave your candle unattended and keep out of reach from pets and children. Only burn on an even surface, out of drafts and away from curtains or any other fire hazards.
